A Block of Row Houses
Fall 2015 | Studio | Row House
I started off this project by taking a tour of Philadelphia, and studying the different types of homes that made this city unique. As a class, we focused our attention more towards the row home style, and took notes on the different ways homes were organized. I was then given the site for which my five row homes would be designed around. Each row home is 20' x 75', so these homes are very generous in size. One of the parameters given to me by my instructor is that the corner home needed to have some type of retail on the first floor, with apartments above it. I chose to have a cafe on the first floor that also has outdoor seating, with two apartments, each having two bedrooms. These drawings are a mix of hand drafting, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup, and Maxwell rendering. The site plan is hand drafted with Photoshop rendering. The plans, elevation, and sections of the homes were made in AutoCAD and rendered in Photoshop. The perspective of the row homes was made in Sketchup and rendered using Maxwell.
